Lost CHILDREN
Melanie
There it is again, that feeling, what is this?
Is it wanting, it is wishing, no, it is a deep down bottomless longing
I don’t care if it has to be like before
Your anger as you slam the door
Your yelling as you leave telling me , “no more”
You were a seed in me since my birth
As a child I wished for you to come on this earth
Once born , our relationship mangled and torn
But we loved, shadow that it seemed
Only God knew what he sprinkled into the seams
Held together by a thread, our DNA, our dreams.
As I breathe into this longing
I surrender to what is and close my eyes,
Another day of tomorrow, I sleep
Here, no sorrow
I will dance with the divine in you
And I’ll remember the beauty from which you grew
So young, your soul., flew,
Quickly,
There it is again, that feeling,
(To all of you whose children are slamming doors, yelling, lying, spinning out of control, hold them, they are here, and for this day that is enough)
“Let the spirit of your cherished children have you “
